For a Stormy Night

First up, Vienna Teng playing the utterly beautiful Blue Caravan. Also featuring the use of a waterphone, for the obscure instrument buffs among you:

The Independent has a lovely little pseudo-interview with Tom Waits on their website today. Well worth a read.

Brief Musical Notes

My copy of Springsteen's new album, Magic turned up in the post earlier this week. I don't need to tell any of you to go listen to this, do I? In any case, there's a rather good review of it here. It's an interesting collection, ranging from classic road-rock to a title track which is arguably the most sinister song he's produced since Highway 29. Definitely recommended.

Also, I love archive.org. They have an impressive collection of (authorised) Vienna Teng bootlegs, including the one I attended in New York a couple of weeks back.
